My puffer has been treated for IP by soaking his food in focus and metroplex for 10 days now. I notice his poop is not stringy anymore but it is often a bunch of small white balls or a mixture of something yellow with white balls.

Yesterday I noticed he was VERY constipated after a large meal the day before. To the point that it looks really painful. I have continued to find small groups of these little white balls but nothing substantial. He is swimming normally and today he is begging for food as he always does in the morning. He does seems somewhat agitated at times and I assume it's because he is feeling so backed up.

I tried putting pure epsom salt in his tank yesterday as well as General Cure in case the metro is not working (for the Prazi). I also tried to feed him peas soaked in seafood and garlic but he just spits them out.

Can the constipation be from Metroplex and does anyone has any idea how else I can help him? How long can he stay constipated before I should be worried?

Are the 'white balls' that he is pooping out a sign of worms?

I am still curious about the 'white balls' that she is pooping. I say she because... she just laid eggs in QT! So it was not constipation after all.

I do know she has or had IP. I am surprised that she just laid what looks like thousands of eggs in QT which does not have the best water conditions. I wonder if this was somehow brought on by going from hypo back to full saltwater. Maybe that is just a coincidence....
