Consuming or losing magnesium

Hi reefers .

I had notice a drop in magnesium lately . From 1350 to 1200 ppm in only a few days .
I am trying to up these numbers with needed quantity of magnesium product i am using , but still no result's so i am dosing now maybe 8x the supposed to be needed quantity with only smal ups over the days to 1260 today .

I was wondering could some algea ( hair/bryopsis ) consume this amount ?
Also does skimming heavy take out the magnesium by these numbers ?
To be noted my dosing pump outlet is before the skimmer chamber . Maybe that has to do something with it ?

Als the other parameters are withing range and i can dose them without any problems or losses in my measurements .

Cannot be anything except test error or a huge drop in salinity. Magnesium testing is so error fraught that I do not generally recommend it.
