I am currently cycling a 29gal with a 20gal sump. It has been cycling for about a month now and ammonia is at 0 nitrites 0 and nitrates were at 5ppm. Now I am waiting for the phosphate cycle to complete and when gha is present is when I will add my CUC. They will be the first things I put in so is it necessary to continue checking the parameters? Obviously I'll keep checking salinity but since there shouldn't be a change do I need to continue or can I save my testers and wait till before I add my CUC to start checking again?

Whats a phosphate cycle?
No need to check everything all the time now, like once a week or once every 2 weeks you should check, just to do it. Unless you have a huge skimmer and the sump is full of macro, then you have nothing to worry about.

I read somewhere that the phosphate cycle is when like cyano and other algae break out but idk. And okay, well no skimmer yet but I plan to have one in the next month or 2

Cyano and Diatoms happen during the cycle, if you didn't see any, you did it right, and more than likely won't see it.

Just let it ride out then. Wipe the glass off. Sounds like your in good shape.
