Started off yesterday with modifying a little cabinet I picked up at IKEA. Wanted to clean up the controllers especially since I plan to start switching over to apex equipment. Cabinet came out good in my opinion but changing out some plumbing caused all kinds of issues. Could not get a couple leaks to stop. Then busted a bulkhead. Luckily had one on hand and changed it. Then busted a second one and did not have one on hand. Looked at the third and it also had a crack. So it’s a combo of cheap bulkheads and over tightening them way to much. Had all kinds of issues with this smaller sump so just soft line to the bulkhead. Was over it after dumping the overflow water on the floor twice. Good thing is I now have room for my ato in the main cabinet. Sorry for the rant but I’m sure we have all had some plumbing issues at one point.

I want to do this but I am having such a hard time finding one that matches that glossy matte black that Red Sea uses. I have looked everywhere.

I get it and it’s hard to find an exact match. I was surprised I found one so close. Just had to wait weeks for IKEA to open again.

I'm searching for a control inspiration now while I'm also designing my stand so that helps. I've got a better chance to match things up than after the fact. You did a nice job.

I'm looking at doing a very similar thing that you did with the side stand and plumbing however its for costomizing my JBJ 45 rl.
what valves did you use ?

Added the apex tonight. Still trying to decide if I am going to mount the power bar. Think I like it below.

Now to figure out how to use the Inkbird temp controller with the apex or just use the apex for temp control.
