controllers

Hey guys so I am looking into getting a controller, and want to save cash and know that some you can use your computer, tablet or smart phone to control, wondering which one you have an if you like it or not, it looks like the apex I can do it with and probably get everything i need but the screen for about 250 or so, wondering if anyone would go with something else or if it is difficult to control with out the display any info would help as I have never owned one before.

There are certain things that need to be done through the display so I would get one with the display module or see if you can borrow one from a friend or local club member. For instance, if you want to calibrate your probes, you'll need to use the display module. Same for setting Feed Mode timing. Those are the two major ones I seem to recall off the top of my head.
