Our reef club has an Apogee MQ210 par meter but the readings we get with it seem hard to believe. Most of the readings that don't make sense are in tanks lit with LED's. The manual states that the meter isn't accurate with LED's without a conversion factor but there is nothing in the manual how to make conversions for LED's.

Anyone have this meter that could help out? Is there any available par meters that are accurate in measuring LED's?

Id love to see the results and what Light is being used.
The difficulty with the older meter was the separation of the colors in an led I believe. (banding disco shimmer etc)
It apparently quite easy to contact Apogee directly with questions as well, and rule out middlemen and interpretation.

The lights were Hydra 26's approximately 14" above a standard 75 gallon tank. Par was 150 on the sand bed but over 900 6 "deep. These are just the two spots I remember them telling me.

Thank's for the info on the company. I'll try to contact them directly.
