I have an Eshopps psk 75 hob skimmer from when I didn't have a sump. Now that I have a sump the skimmer does nothing. I was wondering if there was a way to convert it to in-sump... Is the pump submersible? Would it still work in sump? I searched this in Google and found this thread...

I guess I didn't understand it completely... How did they do that? Would it still work properly?

I know this isn't advice on how to convert, but....

People who need HOB skimmer always seem to be looking for them used....why not sell your HOB skimmer to one of them and get an in-sump skimmer?

If you sell yours and also buy used, the final cost may be a wash - $zero. Or close to it. :)

You're almost guaranteed to have a more capable skimmer at the end of it too!

I looked at the pump and on the side of it it said submersible then I remembered that right before the pump, it disconnects, so I disconnected that and put it in the sump. It looks really ugly and huge because I only have a 10 gallon sump...

I just saw your post! Will this work for now though? I needed a skimmer that works to at least run for a little while... I'm sure my water is filthy... Thanks though! I will have to try and sell it later...

Have you tried hanging it on the sidelines of your sump. Kind of hard to tell if you have room in the pic but would probably work as well.
