Converting a Dual Reactor to a CO2 Scrubber

If I already have a dual GFO and Carbon reactor is it possible to disassemble it and covert one of the canisters to a CO2 Scrubber? From the looks of it all I would need to do is change out the Push fittings to a compatible barb and run some air line instead of RO tubing?

Pretty much it. They sell and use the filter housing just for that purpose. People add a tablespoon of water to the bottom of the outer housing to help keep the air moist. Problem is moisture can accumulate further and get the media wet.

@Stang67 thats exactly what I did. I had the same BRS device, that I should never have bought (too big, since have bought the much smaller sized canisters). But, these are great for scrubbers, I use one on each tank. My set up is redundant though. I pull air from the outside through the scrubber. 6 months ago I couldn’t get to 7.7, I’m at 8.3 2/3 the day never really going below 8.15. I tried a home made recirc with this canister and the PH was insane, but the humidity in the lines was nuts, even with a drip container set up, the moisture would suck up to the canister. Now, so far, zero issues and yes I put a little water in the bottom. This set up will likely never change unless some figured out a more cost effective solution.

totally doable! I actually got someone's old RODI and took it apart and made a CO2 reactor and a GFO/Carbon reactor out of it like what you're talking about.

I would say use the first chamber as a drip chamber if using it in a recirculating co2 scrubber.

Perfect thank you all. Disassembly was a bear. Now off to the hardware store for the barbed fittings and some softer air tubing.
