Converting a Freshwater to Saltwater

Hello fellow reefers. Im about to convert my 72 bow Discus tank into a reef tank. Ive already got my 1500 overflow kit ready and have most of my build planned out but what I am unsure of is, do I need to do anything special to clean and sterilize it. The tank is relatively new. Its only been running for about 7 months after my last one sprung a BAD leak. I've never medicated the tank, so all I was originally planning to do is give it regular scrub down with freshwater and after I have it all plumed let it sit in vinegar water and knock out the leak check while I was at it.

Would all that suffice? I've heard of people using bleach but that sounds harsh.

I converted my 120 gal. discus tank to sw. gave it a good cleaning with white vinegar and water. no problems.

I think water, vinegar and some razor blades to scrape stuff off would be plenty. Just scrape the inside off with the blades to remove any fw algae that grown on it and of course remove old substrate, and in my opinion not use any after that since I went BB I've loved the ease of maintenance. But hey that's more than you asked for and up to you ultimately. Welcome to this side of the hobby I love my fw tank.
