I'm new to reef and a friend gave me an RO but I found a nice RODI unit so I'm wondering if I can convert the RO to a Reactor? On BRS their reactor looks almost like an RO.

If so how?

Thanks

If you are talking about one of the vertical canisters that hold the sediment or carbon block filters, yes you can. That is all the reactors you see many sites sell are with a refillable cartridge inside them to hold your media.

That's what it looks like. So if I place a refillable cartridge in it.

You would eliminate the RO membrane on the top and just use one or both of the vertical canisters. I would also plumb it the way Spectrapure does so you can control each canister individually without affecting the other. Most vendors flow from one into the other and things like carbon and GFO have both different useful lives and different flow requirements if you want to get the most out of them.
