hi, I have a new 120g 5 foot long mixed reef and am having trouble deciding on fish. I've had my eyes on four particular fish that I really want. The fish are a fox face, bluethroat trigger, regal angelfish and a convict tang. l don't know if this is too much in the tank I have. I also have a bunch of other little small fish.

There might be some aggression issues.

Regals are very timid fish and both the fox face and convict tang might bully it. The convict tang is on the more mellow side of tangs, so might work. Foxface really depends on the individual fish some are rather intolerant of other algae eaters. I would add the regal by itself for 1-2 months before adding any of the other fish. Let it chose where its home is, more importantly eating without competition. They are the most difficult to get acclimated to captive living on your list.

Its a lot of large fish in a relatively small area, so id probably go regal then the smaller fish, then maybe the blue throat trigger and see how things go. Few words of caution, regals can eat corals and the trigger will probably eat any shrimp in your tank.

That combination of tangs and angel should work. I never keep triggers so I cannot help you there. Of the fish you listed, I would put the Regal angel in the tank first and not add any of the other fish until he is healthy and establish. The tangs and Foxface will grow very fast but the Regal angel will take a long time to grow. My Regal angels pair started out at about 1.5 inches and it took 2 years to reach 2.5 inches, while the PBT goes from 2-6 inches during the same time period.

The blue throat trigger is the most peaceful of the bunch. It can be kind of timid at first. I have had this fish before and currently have one. The foxface are not normally aggressive. I have had some that are bold and swim all over the tank and some that are timid. I would put the tang in last. The regal first.

Don't see a problem with this group you mention as long as there is adequate room and hiding spots
