Convince me one way or the other

I currently have a 180g Fowlr, well mostly. It gets a few basic overflow corals from my 50g reef aquarium. I’d like to get a larger aquarium to replace the 180 or at least I think I do. I really like a 30-36” front to back aquarium for the depth it creates, although it’s not a deal breaker. so from there known options I have considered

I voted on 3 feet deep. I'm doing the same basic thing. Instead of the 48x24x25 I was gonna get, I figured out that the space I have planned for will support a 48x38x25. Deep is good.

I'd say 8x3 can keep a larger verity of fish. The 3' depth will be nice for coral/rock placement also.

I love the amount of depth it creates along with the opportunity for some really interesting scapes that just aren’t the same in 2’ or less

Do you have any pics of your setup? Sounds like you could do some really cool stuff with it

Oh no. Not yet. It's due to go up in Spring of 25. I'm collecting materials now. I've still gotta do flooring, inside painting, and have to settle my Dad's Estate. And work. And spend time with my family. I have NO time to set up a reef right now! But that'll change when things level out.

The bigger the better, if you can afford it. I can’t, but I’ll live vicariously through you! Seriously, more room for cool fish, cool corals, and greater stability, too! Do it, do it, do it! Go big or go home!
