I am debating getting a new apex. I need some help being convinced of a few things:
1.) Should I drop 800$ For the full system?
2.) ApexEL vs Apex 2016
3.) Convince me that I should get an apex!
Thanks!

Please say why you voted how you did!
EDIT: I have a 200 gallon DT and a 150 Gallon Grow out tank. I have an Apex Jr. that i use without and modules currentelly. I love it because it helps me feel more in control. I am in school and/or away from home from 7 am until 6 pm. I love fusion and also love the ability to monitor my tank from afar. I also cant stand doing tests and I’m looking forward to the Trident release later this year. I do not really understand the point of the EL because it is missing the probes that you are wanting if you want a better apex

I voted no, as I or someone is always watching my tank, and I like to be very hands on with it. So I would personally never invest in on unless maybe I had to start traveling a lot or something. But I don't know YOUR situation.

What is your situation? Do you want one because you travel a lot, just like technology, don't like checking certain things, piece of mind?

Or, just want to spend some extra cash on something cool!!!!

I think knowing some stuff may help others know how to vote for you:)

I am a believer in spending on what makes you happy!

Sooooo………..I will now change my vote to yes, recommend you buy the latest and greatest with every possible option!;)

I voted Apex 2016. I bought mine right when the EL version came out, I decided to keep the full due to a few outlets that come standard and I chose to go with the Apex (vs. no controller) becasue I plan on having a remote ATO system in my basement along with a salt water mixing station and leaning towards AWC. Otherwise, I would not have bought it due to I like to keep it simple when I can.

As a high school student, I have a big of a tight budget! But as the saying goes, don’t get into reefing unless you are prepared to burn money! For me, its convincing myself that dropping 800 of a new apex is worth it. I did find one for 550+shipping, and I think that would be the one I got.

I have an Apex Classic (at my age lots of my stuff is "classic") that's 6 years old and works well. I'm interested in how well the built in wifi works on the new version. I run a nodal router and my Apex is "hardwired" to a node.

Like mta_morrow says do what makes you happy. I find my Apex to be very valuable. I love to be able to monitor when away (has saved my bacon on more than one occasion), the convenience such as being able to turn something back on that I forgot to do when I was home and the ability to log, graph and monitor my maintenance and testing history.

Exactly

Got rid of mine. Am old school and certainly not a "Techie". Like to go by what I see not what sensors are trying to tell me. I realize that as a result I will win some and lose some. If you like a ton of information and you have the money then go for it.

I love the “info overflow” that I get from my current apex. I still feel like it’s lacking something so that’s my reason for upgrading
