Hey all, I'm proud of myself. I resisted the impulse buy this afternoon. The LFS has a bunch Condy Anenomes for 8 bucks a pop. They are white with bright pink/purple tips. Questions for the group:

Does the Condy make a good host? I have a maroon clown and a tomato.

I have a 48" light fixture with 4 t5 bulbs. Is this enough lighting? (90 gal display)

Will a Condy be a good member of a reef aquarium? I will be adding corals in the near future.

Any help is appreciated.

I've seen tomato clowns host Condys at a LFS before but I think that a LTA or BTA would make a much better host.

From LiveAquaria ---

The Condy Anemone requires strong light and should never be purchased if a good lighting system is not in place. It will do well in an aquarium with live rock and several crustaceans. Although a Condy requires a reef environment, it is not the best suited for the reef aquarium. The Condy Anemone moves around the tank and has a sting that can inflict grave damage to other anemones and corals. Do not include its natural predator, the large Red-Leg/Stareye Hermit Crab of the genus Dardanus.

Unlike other anemones, the Condy Anemone does not have a relationship with any particular fish, and it is rare for any type of clownfish or damsel to reside within them.

knew it was too good to be true, glad I held off. I've never had a neme before, this is a new frontier for me!

Best advice I can give is avoid impulse buys at all costs. If you see something cool at the LFS, go home and research first, then maybe come back and make a purchase.

my clowns did host mine It took a while but, he moved a lot and ended up in a power head. Now they host the xena

I had one that my Clarkie's would host. It seemed to be on a moon cycle because about once a month it would pick up and move. This left me playing musical corals until it settled. Of course it was a impulse buy!
