Cool fish I got today: springeratus xanthosoma

springeratus xanthosoma

Common name is weed fish apparently. It's a crazy looking blennoid. Can't get pictures of mine as he is still hiding. Tank bred by SA apparently too. I never would have noticed him in the dealer's tank except that when his tank was fed he was a super aggressive feeder. At under 3 inches he is also an ideal nano fish.

He has fins like a frog fish that he "walks" around on too. He is also a piggy eater and fun to feed. Great little fish!

It has red eyes in person which I love about it. I don't really name my fish but they sometimes collect names from other people. I have a yellow tail damsel named Steve in my tank at work because my coworkers named it. This one doesn't have a name yet but he has so much personality I'm sure it will collect a name.

Not much info out there about them. Kind of took a risk on him but he was housed with two clowns in the dealer's tank and that is his tank mates at home so I'm not worried. Doesn't seem to be a coral nipper.
