Hey all,
I have an idea— Since it appears that everyone has their own rendition of a weeping willow, Fiji yellow, Japanese leather, etc. I would like to see a nice thread of everybody’s interesting Toadstool Leathers. This coral just appears to always look different to me. Likely, there are thousands of strains in the hobby and almost no two are exactly alike. Couple that with the fact that they look entirely different from tank to tank.

I have just developed such a love for these corals because they are strikingly easy to care for, grow absolutely massive, and really feel like a true reef keeper’s coral. (Ease of care, beauty, collect-ability)

I will start with one I got last night. Not sure what the heck the trade name would be. It’s only about 0.5” in diameter right now but the polyps are almost 2”. Looks like a funky Koosh Ball:

A few pictures of my monster toadstool. You can see the green weeping willow that is just about center of the tank. I don't have any exclusive of that one so I'll take a picture later (he's shedding is "skin" so he's all shimmery and retracted atm).

Toadstool is about 2 years in the tank and easily 1.5-2ft across if completely flat and open (this is a 6 foot tank)

WW is finally waking up after shedding the last few days. Saw the layers sloth off last night and some polyps coming out just before lights out.

The big toadstool is angry today and waking up slow on a Sunday. He does this every so often and will fully wake up by dinner or within a few minutes. Really seems to have his own personality if that makes sense

So hard to get these in focus at times

I am totally following you! I want to aquascape our 125 like yours (NASCAR if you will) open in back and sides with cut throughs like yours. We’ve got a 100gTall now and we’re using LR. Soft coral toadstools are our goal. Yours are beautiful.

That is massive! Wow

So we just completed a large move that required a full breakdown and new aquascape.

Leathers are recovering slowly, but here's hoping they appreciate the new scape

Has anybody seen a toadstool with a dark green body with purple-red polyps? Saw this and thought it was super cool.
