I usually stay away from fake stuff just because they can get overridden by algae or leach off chemicals that can cause issues in the tank.

If ya have an established system it’s fine, will just turn purple form coralline. As far as chemicals leaching, nothing to worry about as if there in fact were any it’s soo minuscule wouldn’t matter.

Do you think there are no chemicals on the pumps, power heads, skimmer, etc on your tank that potentially leach?
