I’m in the process of replacing the cleaner shrimp and urchin I lost. What are some cool or rare reef-safe inverts for a 20 gallon tank? I already have a starfish/hermit crabs and no snails or conchs.

What kind of starfish? Conch are kind of neat and I'm fond of sea hares

My pink and orange filter feeding sea cucumber is pretty cool! Also love this particular feather duster worm! IMG_20220611_075115.jpg IMG_20220903_193535.jpg

another common but cool invert is the Coral Banded Shrimp. . . One of my favs.
+1.
I love watching my CBS, he's a valuable member of my CUC, constantly picking around the rocks and adds real character to my tank. A model citizen too.

harlequin shrimp are amazing if you can feed them. it would probably kill ur starfish tho
The only thing harlequin shrimp eat is star fish so probably not one of those. They are cool tho. I had one that took care of my astrina star fish but I got tired of cutting legs off chocolate chip stars to feed it so I traded it in.

Before you add more inverts, do you have a clear idea of why your cleaner shrimp and urchin died?
Yes I overdosed on NOPOX by accident. The issue is resolved and I got my little guys.

Oh yes definitely not that. Their only diet is starfish.
