I am looking for good cooling fan options for a cube sump. Please share what you are using and whether the fan is quiet when it is in operation.

Clip on plug in fan would probably be the easiest and cheapest option. There are also aquarium specific ones made by Zoo-Med and other manufacturers.

I use a basic clip on plug in. They last many years and the price is right.

I don't have a ton of room under the stand so I was looking at everything from computer fans to the very pricey fans from GHL as I will be running a Profilux controller. Looking for something like the latter but I'd love to not have to spend over $100.

It all depends on ambient temperature and humidity when it comes to fan cooling. In a moderate climate, fan cooling is very effective even a standard 80cm computer fan will perform. Clip on fan is nicer but be careful with AC driven fan. Use 12v dc fan for safety.

In a hot and humid country like mine, cooling fan must be able to move a lot of air (loosely translated as noisy fan) to see a dent and top off water runs out very fast.
