I have 3 big tanks in my basement but wanted to have a small one on the night stand. So I picked up a gutted 12 jbj nano cube for 15$ and cut the rim off and cleaned off the silicone. I used random equipment I had lying around such as a koralia nano and a 10g hob filter with purigen in it. I wanted minimal rocks so I went with 2 pieces of Marco and a piece of Tongan branch and drilled 1/2 holes around them for frag plugs. For lighting I'm using a solara 150w hqi pennant I had collecting dust. My plans for this tank is mostly Sps and a frag of my rainbow acans. This system will be low nutrient and I'm only going to feed black jack dragon dust. ( if you haven't tried this stuff it's amazing) potent. I use water out of my 200g frag tank system and the rock from the sump so didn't need to cycle. I seeded the tank with pods from my refugium and a couple micro brittles and a couple small Astraea snails. Here's where we were right after setup.

I added some corals last night. I'm testing the waters so to speak with a green digi colony and a bird nest frag. So far they're doing really well. I also put a neon green fungia where the small rock on the left is.

I've never been a fan of black sand. But I wanted to try it and see if it would grow on me. So far the contrast with the corals is pretty nice. Still don't know if I would want it in my larger systems. But I'll post some updated pics later as the corals go in.
