I recently noticed a ton of very small white spots on some of my zoas and frogspawn. Upon closer inspection the white spots seemed to be moving on their own and not just flowing with the water currents. I've attached pics below and as you can tell both corals are mostly closed up and clearly upset. My main concern is the cluster along the left/top of the frogspawn. I also have acans and montis in my tank however there are zero of these white spots on them.
Does anybody know what they are and how to get rid of them? My tank has been running for about 1.5 years and the only change I've made is that I recently removed the sand to go bare bottom, so my thought is that whatever these are were hiding in the sand?
