Copepod questions for dragonet

So I think my tank is at a decent point to start adding pods to it, and I was thinking about a Ruby Red Dragonet and I've seen some mixed thoughts about having one in a small tank and heard some people make it work. Currently have a 12g tank. Was thinking about adding a couple bottles of live pods to it. When would I be able to tell when its the right time to add a Dragonet to my tank. I also got a 5g laying around would it be possible to turn that into a tank to breed pods or is it not worth the time?

If you run a Mando in less than 50 gallons. You will need to add pods or get one that eats frozen and feed daily. Growing pods would be cheaper than buying them.

So would setting up that 5g tank I have to culture pods be enough to support it along with growing pods in the 12g using pod hotels?

Hm ok thank you. I’ll start looking into how to setup that 5g tank and then start getting pods from lfs to grow
