After several months of having my maxima clam with no issues, over the last few days has been very closed up. I was concerned and lifted up my clam to look for any snails by the foot when I noticed that there were 10+ larger copepods living in the crevice by the foot. Could these be disturbing my clam?

The foot does look a little damaged, whether this was caused by the copepods/amphipods or by others means and the pods are just taking advantage is hard to say. Where was the clam placed? Sand or rock?

Copepods shouldn't.
Assure you have no snails at or within the clam as mainly tulip snails will take clam down. Also, if youre able to see within the clam, look for any crabs or shrimp who can make a home inside the shell.

Rock. I have a bare bottom tank
