I bought an 8oz bottle of Algagen tisbe pods for my Mandarin at my lfs. The water looks pretty murky and unlike any of the pods I’ve purchased before (algaebarn and reef nutrician). I tested the ammonia in the bag and it’s 2.0ppm. Wouldn’t this kill everything in my tank?

I wouldn't feed pods without straining them at the very least, but also, presumably your tank is much larger than 8oz so the ammonia would be significantly diluted? The bigger question is are the pods even still alive?

Are the pods even alive? If not, I wouldnt use them. I have never received pods that were not in pristine water.

I think they’re all dead, sitting at the bottom.

Yeah, don't use that. They're bad. They probably got too cold and died.

I just went with Dinkins Aquatic Gardens who is a vendor on here. They supply really awesome phytoplankton and pods and when they get to you everything is alive, clean and legit. They do a great job packing too, so that everything stays room temp.

I have a 32 gallon. Definitely dead. I’m gonna see if I could exchange them tomorrow

Thanks! I’ll check them out.
