Hi
My tank is about 6 months old and doing well. I just noticed many critters on my glass that look like the copepods in this video (copepods in a mandarin fish aquarium - YouTube) BUT they DO NOT move like copepods (erratic quick jerky) they slime/move slowly stuck on the glass. Think they are dreaded flatworms? they are tiny and white and have a bit of a forked tail. I see none of them on my hammers and frogspawn (the only coral I have).
I bought a bottle of Flatworm Rx today. Think there is any harm in just treating my tank anyway? or can Flatworm Rx injure or kill copepods and limpets and such....?
many thanks for your wisdom. Oh and cant send a pic cause way too tiny. My iPhone cant even begin to focus.

Your description sounds like flatworms…..and there are different kinds. HERE is a pretty good hitchhiker site where you can compare pictures.

Best of luck.

I'm seeing more copepods then anything. Going by the movement of them and the shape of the ones I can actually see. :)
Not all flatworms are to be dreaded actually. Most are harmless algae eaters. Only dreadful thing about them is how quickly they multiply. Easily remedied with FWExit.

thanks for you replies. The youtube video is not mine. I just used it as a reference. My point is these things are about the size of pods but they move differently sort of slime on the glass. I have decided to use the FW Rx that I bought and then do a water change and see how it goes.... wish me luck

Good luck!!! Let us know how you are doing.
Hi There
OK so I added the FW Rx and waited about 2 hrs and I think I disabled a few FW but not much happened. I suppose I could have waited longer than 2 hrs before the suggested water change; but my water change helper had to leave....
I need to order a screen from BRS so my fish cant jump out so I think I will order FW Exit. When reading I think that stuff may work a bit better..... In the meantime I dont think these FW are in epic proportions in my tank and my hammers seem ok,,,, will keep y'all posted on my FW saga....

Flat Worm Exit works within minutes!! Be ready to do a water change right away.
That video was not a very good one for FW reference. Your description was much better :)
