Copepods where are you hiding?

I culture Tigriopus californicus. They will mostly occupy substrate, but are known to swim in the water column. Fish aren't the only animals that eat them. Tube worms, anemones, soft corals, SPS corals, LPS corals and larger zooplankton will consume them. They will do best in a refugium, especially with macro algae, but that doesn't mean they will thrive. Keep in mind that a small mandarin dragonet can eat well over 2,000 copepods a day, so that level of predation can keep a copepod population from succeeding; however, if you are feeding phytoplankton or have such a large system that the mandarin can't possibly comb the entire tank in a day, then the copepods have a chance to keep a population going. In the end, every tank is different, so we all do our best, right? :)

Very good! Let me know if you have any questions. That is a really nice store and I can see our refrigerator near the check out counter. Excellent!

She was definitely just getting use to her surrounds, today I came home and she was on the sand pecking at I can only assume is pods etc, so I got my feeding tube out and spot fed her some more artmeis and spirulina and once more she ate the frozen food and even swam after some that past by. I'm really pleased and it's good fun doing it.

Just thought I would update this, I still spot feed her twice a day and when I put the feeding tube into the tank she swims straight over waiting for the frozen food to come out. I've also got a male on order too, it will be great to pair them up.

I also found my pods! I was feeding my corals at night and when shining my light into the tank, there were millions of them! The rocks, sand and water was swarming with them!!

Another update:

My blenny is doing fantastic, i stopped spot feeding her around mid December because she would eat plenty of food when I feed my other fish, although I could not see the pods during the day at night there are millions of them and amphipods swarming the sand bed, so I assume she's eating through out the day... then when watching her it suddenly hit me how much she's filled out and put weight on, no more pinched stomach. It's a great feeling to see that and she's one of my fav fish.
