Long story short - kept fish for many years - most recent 8 years Malawi’s. I’m just finishing major work in house and should set up tank in next 4-6 weeks. I’ve bought all the equipment (skimmer, reactor etc). A LFS has a superb display tank set up and I’ve literally bought everything to replicate.
My query is to plan ahead. I’m going to keep a few fish - Banggai cardinalfish and Yellow Tang plus a few gobies - but the plan is it will be a largely coral display. I did want a Leopard Wrasse but understand that wouldn’t initially be suitable.
I’m intending to incorporate Copepods as part of the maturing process - I’ve decided to not go ‘live rock’ but have bought ECO REEF which through the maturing process is supposed to be just as good to establish populations. I’m in no rush and will only add any form of stock when the tank is really ready and then obviously gradual additions.
So when the tank is matured my original question above relates to the continued populating of Copepods - don’t know if it’s a gimmick but just bought/received, from the US, a ‘hotel’ and I’m just deciding how to best make it work.
AlgaeBarn, being I’m in the UK, isn’t a viable option but I do have similar UK based operations I can go to.
I’m wanting to have all my plans in place so that when I put everything together I’m as prepared as possible to ensure a greater choice of success from the start.
