i just got an order for first time from this company and pods came packed in bag on a wet sponge. How do i put in tank? Do I just drop sponge in? last ones I got came just in a bag.

Welcome to R2R, Ive received them the same way, I just take the sponge and place it in a container and add some tank water, a lot of them dislodge from the sponge the ones that don’t I just work them out and add to the tank. :)

Also, just as quick note, pour in your copepods at night, when the fish are sleeping, then turn off pumps for a while.

I have never bought them that way, but always heard you were supposed to leave the sponge in over night, then remove the next morning. The theory I guess is that they slowly come out and don't all get sucked up or ate at one time.

I bought from Algae barn and received mine 2 days ago, in a nice plastic mason jar. Maybe next time order from them if you don't like the sponge.

I have been thinking about trying this. So, you guys add the whole bag all at once to the tank?

How many are you adding each time and how often do you repeat the process?

got them from aquarium depot. I had heard you should put them in at night, just not possible this time. Took me almost an hour to get them out of the sponge type thing. I call it a sponge but it was like a filter thing and i just had to keep ripping it to get to the ones deep in. I had 4 orders so there was a lot!

I have had good pods from Reef Nutrition, Atlantic Biotechnology as well as Algae Barn.

I save on shipping since my LFS carries the Reef Nutrition tigger pods.

I just got the Atlantic Biotech this week from amazon. The count is supposed to be 2600, and it was $24.99 plus free shipping with prime.

I know Algae Barn has high reviews, I've used to get my pods from then on subscription, but more than once it was hard to see the pods (I want breeding adults in the mix).

My experience with Reef Nutrition and now Atlantic Biotechnology has been much better than Algae Barn with regard to the number of adult pods and not to mention saving on the expensive shipping that, IMO, Algae Barn would be a third choice for me.

half the pods int the sump and the other half in the DT. With lights out. Let the pods come to temperature first (open the top to let air in)

If you can get your hands on an acrylic or pvc pipe, pour them down the pipe to the base of the rocks so they can hide. shake the tube to flush out any stragglers.

I looked them up on Amazon and for some reason I get no buying options?? Almost like they are not available?
