I not bought Any pod whatsoever but may have at least 8 different kinds that I've seen from ampripods, isopods, copepods, and orthropods,so they just came in on tiny little frags of corals and now at night on certain areas my sandned literally hundreds crawling about all next to each other ,fascinating watching them go about their business and sometimes get to watch them eat each other ha ha so if adding live rock or corals I don't think can stop it unless you qt and very agressive dipping procudure to make sure 0 get through but still then idk

They are very helpful, adding to your biodiversity and helping keep cyano, dinos, and similar problems at bay. They are also really helpful as members of your clean-up crew, since they can fit into the tiny crevices in your rocks and consume detritus.

if you’re thinking of having some sort of fish that feeds off this type of food, then yes, it is necessary even if it’s a 10G.

personally i do believe it is necessary because it is a good indicator that your biodiversity is good. meaning, an established tank!
