Hi could anyone help. As a newbie not having a quarantine tank about a year ago I started dosing Cupramine for about 30 days on my tank, with Sand and some rocks on it. I used Seachem Cuprisorb in large Quantities to Remove copper from aquarium. IT is testing as 0 on seachems copper test kit. My soft corals, Hammers, leather Toadstool and others look ok. But monties seem to die in about 3 weeks of entering my tank, they start loosing the zooanthele till they completely go white to the skeleton. But what hunts me is that all other corals are doing ok. I thought it might be too much light. So i lowered the output of my Radion Gen 3 pros to 65% this did not do anything, lowered montis to bottom of tank, It is 36" deep.
Water parameters are as follow
Amonia 0
Nitrate 0
Nitrite 0
Po4 0.5
NO3 2.0
Alk 9.0
PH 8.0-8.1
I Know Phosphates are high
also Nitrates but have seen tanks go higher and monties be ok.
Im currently dosing NO3Po4x from red sea.
Next step would be to send a water test to Triton to check if the find detectable copper. Do you think that in such low levels that are not detectable by red sea kit Copper bleach montys and kill them within 3 weeks. I have not found any noticeable nudibranchs, Just running out of options.
Please help.
