Hi,

I want to re use some equipment that I have used in fish treatment tanks where they were exposed to copper (Seachem Cupramine) in a coral gray tank (SPS).

The equipment includes return pump, skimmer as well as a feeder.

I was told that a bath in vinegar would neutralize any potential leftover copper. If this is true, would citric acid achieve the same result?

Is this safe? I must confess that I have never measured any Cupramine absorption by any of the equipment in the hospital tank as it measures where it should according to dosage and the levels stay consistent overtime.

Many thanks!

Youll need to run the system using a carbon until you read 0 on copper levels. It gets into the glass.

Thanks, though carbon alone will remove copper from water column, not necessarily from equipment coating. And I am not using the Hospital tank for corals, only the return pump that was in that hospital tank.
