Hello, I’m trying to identify the cause of death of my copper band. I have had her for over a year and a half, she was eating the night before and I found her dead this morning when I went to feed.
There was no obvious red spots on her prior to her dying. But upon taking her out of the tank she had a red face/gills. Now I’m trying to figure out if I have uronema or if it’s a bacterial infection. I’ve started the fish on metroplex and kanaplex bonded with focus but what else can I do to protect my other fish?

Some other information that may/may not be needed:
I did move in 4/29 so that could have caused her stress.
the only thing I’ve added is a purple tang (on 4/29). she had been in QT since March 5th. Started her on copper mid March because she developed spots like ich. She was with 2 clowns that died simultaneously with tang developing the spots. However one clown had a slight red near the gills. I assumed the cause of death was related to the ich the tang got but now I’m wondering if I over looked a much bigger problem.

Awww man- sorry to see. Generally its hard to tell cause of death once fish has perished but if youre saying it developed red streaks and gill inflammation, gills will be flukes possibly and redness bacterial.
Assure your ammonia-nitrates-ph and salinty are not elevated

What test kits also are you using ?

What a shame, it looks to be nice and fat. I really doubt this is Uronema, that is most commonly seen in newly acquired fish.
At first I was thinking maybe it ran into a wall, but not with the other fish issues.

It looks bacterial = where the source is/was - IDK - Sorry about your fish - it looks otherwise healthy

Not so much gill inflamation, the face was red and someone else commented (Facebook) it looks like it could have been red around the gills too, but honestly I’m only seeing it in the face.
0 ammonia
0 nitrite
10ppm nitrate
.03ppm phosphate
The salinity is slightly elevated at 1.028 and I usually like to keep it 1.026 but I have yet to hook up my ATO (we need an electrician to come out before I can hook it up due to an issue with our electrical panel being a mess). Going to slowly adjust it today so it’s back at 1.026 but I don’t think .002 raise is enough to have killed my CBB.

Salinity high as suspected and try for 1.025

It is a bit high but I know a few people who choose to keep theirs at 1.028 and a .002 difference shouldn’t cause fish to die. I already adjusted it back to 1.026
