Hi all.

So a few days ago after a LOT of uhhming and ahhhing I purchased a copper band butterfly and he looks awesome. I was concerned about the usual story with these guys but I recon this guy didn't get the memo about being picky.
From day one he's taken frozen brine and mysis, and I have some clams that he can rip into as well. Also he holds own pretty well when going toe to toe with the others feeding in "the water column" He already knows my body shape and comes to the feeding corner when I approach the tank.
He looks very perky and alert but he does pace up and down the tank a fair bit....

There are a few things I'm wanting to change to see if it has any effect on his behaviour.

I have just added a new power head to the tank and in turn changed my gyre to pulse mode so i have a good mix of flow and turbulence. But I can now hear my gyre everytime it kicks in, almost like phone on vibrate constantly ringing in the next room...quiet....but there.
My other powerhead is super silent.

Would this "on and off" hum from the gyre be stressing it?
or is this normal behaviour for a newly added copper band?
can anyone shed any light or suggest anything.

tank is a reefer 350, the only fish he has had a scuffle with was my yellow tang but they are best buds now.
0 ammonia, 0 nitrates, phos 0.15, alk 7.44, ph 8.06, sal 1.025, temp 25-26 C,

Thanks all :)

Can't get to video from my phone. The back and forth is a sign of stress. If he is new but eating I wouldn't worry too much. A lot of things can cause it so it is hard to pinpoint why.

for some reason it's not showing video :(
he is eating well and eager when he does so.....i'll have a new powerhead by the weekend, so time will tell.

The behavior in the video is not alarming at all. Currently he is figuring out that he is confined. He can see out, and it appears to him that there is plenty of swimming space just beyond the glass walls and he is trying to reach it.

At least fish can figure glass out eventually. 10 years in a glass enclosure and a tortoise will still walk into it over and over until it's own momentum turns it in another direction...
