So awhile back I added copper to my display tank.. (I know now, BIG mistake)

Moving forward I've been fighting the copper, and finally did a 100% water change. Cleaned the tank and sump best I could. Added New RO water and no salt. No equipment is in the tank other than the return pump. And i also have curpisorb in it. That was on May 6th.

May 11th I tested and it still read 0 copper. I then added salt to the tank to bring the salinity to 1.025

May 12th I tested for copper and the hannah checker read .03 (could this be from the reef oceans salt?)

So I was curious and tested my frag system for copper.. it read .015 and .016 after a second test. I have corals in the tank, inverts, and fish. Could this be a mis-calculation?

Maybe my hannah checker is running me around at low range testing?

For the record, in the first tank reading .03, there's no rocks, sand, fish, corals or anything. The tank is 100% bare.

The Hanna copper checker may be OK for medicating, but it seems to give incorrect values (mostly false high from what I've seen) when trying to assess whether there is too much copper in a typical reef tank.

Thanks for the input guys! I'm alittle worried about adding sand and new rock to the display. How long before you'd think I'd be in the clear?
