I made judgement to dose copper in DT. Held therapeutic cupramine levels at 0.5 mg/l for 35 days, then began removing the copper. During treatment period, zero flashing/scratching and fish behaved and ate well. I just began process of removing copper (down to 0.11 mg/l) and fish are flashing again.

Do I need to dose for 75 days to ensure any larval stage ich is eradicated? Maybe some survived in the rock or sand??

Did you use Hanna checker and tested 1-2x a day during treatment? If not, it’s possible that the rocks absorbed copper and the level dropped below therapeutic.

Very few fish would do well in copper for 75 days so definitely not a good idea.

Are you noticing any spots or anything on fish? Flashing after copper could be due to irritation or even infections.

Did you do a FW dip to check for flukes? I believe copper will suppress flukes but not kill them.

Yes to Hannah copper checker, so was very consistent after reaching stability (the 35 days started once I got to stable concentration).

Re Flukes, did not do a FW dip, as had used PraziPro prior... also in the DT with rocks/sand.

I did not like that more and more fish were starting to flash. First it was just the two angels, then the hippo tangs, then the clowns.

I figure that's inconsistent with post copper irritation (more and more fish flashing), hence was going to retreat with Cupramine.

Other option I suppose is to just wait for ich to become visible (or not).

Uggh. I just want to watch a cool fish tank!

Been there done that! I feel your pain.
