Copper in QT and Hypo in DT

Running through the logistics here and came up with a question that I'm not 100% sure on. My son has an eel, a Coral Beauty and a big Green Bristlestar. I planned to move the bristlestar to my 240 (during fallow period) since it can not carry Ich. I think I recall hearing that eels can't get Ich, but I'm not sure I'm recalling that correctly. Can they and could I put the eel in the 240g during fallow?

+1 Unlikely to show symptoms due to their thick slime layer (which can even contain algae ); however eels can still be carriers of parasites.

Ok, so no eel in the 240. Looks like I will have to do some juggling with tanks tomorrow. Gonna move the eel and CB into the tank the PBT is in. Gonna move the PBT into a 20 and the fish from the 240 into my son's 55g. When their tank is up to .5, I will move the PBT in with them and start the clock as day one.

Update time...

The Powder Blue is in QT and looks back to normal 10 days in.

The rest of the fish in the 240g had been looking okay up until last Thursday. I was just going to go the "management route", but then the new Juvenile Emperor Angel started getting covered. I decided to just treat everyone and go fallow in the 240g through November.

I found a 80g with stand for $50, so I started setting that up yesterday...

Luckily, my wife allows me to do things like add this new QT into our bedroom when we already have my 60g cube (that will soon be slightly larger). Hopefully fish can be caught and added tonight after work.

The tank itself is pretty beat up. I think it's pretty old, but it held water, so fingers are crossed. The stand is homemade and I sprayed it black just to clean it up a bit. It was on Craigslist as a 200g aquarium. Apparently it was in a house that someone won in auction and the contractor that is gutting the house just wanted it gone. He had no idea on the actual volume.

I do feel better about keeping the fish in a larger tank. Will see how they all do in treatment.

I'm trying to figure out the Powder Blue now...don't really want to keep it in with all the new fish being added because it would be going through that extra 11 days, but also don't want to keep it separate the whole time. I am replacing my 60g cube and might add it into the new reef for a while. New reef tank will be 30x20x24.

Well...to cut a long story short, hoping the old tank would be okay didn't work so well. Was fine overnight, fine when I tested it over the weekend but of course after my 240g is torn apart and I have the Emperor in a bucket, I hear the pitter-patter of water. I look at the rear seam and water is coming out from about the top 6-8 inches.

I drained that ASAP, drained my QT with the Powder Blue, added water from the leaky tank and now have the Powder and Emp in my smaller tank for now. No copper, but will start bringing that up.

Gotta clean up and figure out a plan for tomorrow. Not a good night...
