I recently had a pump fail due to a wire becoming exposed. It was in the tank for around 1 week.

once I corrected the issue, I immediately began to run Cuprisob as a safety measure as to any copper that may have leached from the wire.

After three weeks, checking the Cuprisob I notice it’s a light blue.

realistically would much copper leach from a exposed wire?

is my live rock and sand doomed?

Probably not, especially after 3 weeks have already passed. If bad things were going to happen, they probably already would have happened, IMHO. But API has an inexpensive test kit. And maybe one of your LFS would have one they use and would test your water for free!

Good luck.

For sure nothing will happen. One week is to short time to make problems. Check which level of copper you have and then (if you will have) make water change and will be fine.

I decided to run some poly filter and it turned blue! I put some more in and it also turned blue! Third go and it’s not turning blue, I’m thinking there was more copper in there but maybe now the cuprisorb and poly filter may have done their job.

Get a copper test kit if you’re worried. Salifert makes one. Hanna has a checker.
