So i have a 30 gal qt and i have been adding copper power daily to increase it to 2.5ppm as directed. The copper power is more than half way done and it seems to still be reading at 1.0 or just a little over and I dnt knw if I should keep adding more copper or what?

The copper power is 4 fl oz. and the directions says 1 fluid oz to each 20 gal. So that means it should of been reading th correct level by now since i already user more than half the bottle. I dnt what to do... Help please!

See the copper power is more than halfway done and the other 2 pics are my copper level.

Your adding copper to your water change water too right? Remember every time you do a water change you are removing water and copper. You'll have to replace the copper you took out and add a little extra to bring up therapeutic levels.

You'll find that your rock, sand, and other equipment will also absorb some copper. It can easily be removed with cuprisorb later so I wouldn't worry but this is common for copper products. Don't stress! :)

+1 to both comments above. @vedros74 knows a lot more about using Copper Power than I do. Hopefully he chimes in.

I dnt have any sand and as for rocks, they are not live and didnt think they would absorb anything.. Because they are fake. The pic is below. So should i leave it or just add the rest of the copper that is left? Lol im trying not to stress but i dnt want to have them in this qt for 3 months and i put them back in my dt n then another breakout because i didnt do something right. Or maybe im just over reacting [emoji19] lol

Agree with the others I wouldn't stress even though it is stressful. Lol. I've always found I had to add more than the directions said to get to the 2.5 levels so it's not anything your doing. Also I'm pretty sure on the kit if you read the instructions your supposed to look down from the top to get your color for the reading so you very well may be at the correct levels. Double check your kits because the older ones you compare like you have it but it looks like a newer kit by the card your using and if that's the case you have to look down from the top the vile

Lol ok... Have u ever had to use the entire bottle to get it there lol? Im thinking to just throw the rest in there since everyone is doing fine.

I did the same thing when I switched from the old kit to the newer one because most kits you compare like you had it but this one says look down for color from top

So what does it read when you look at it from the top?

You are right!!! From the top it is darker but still not as dark as it should be but you are def. right. I was reading it from the side instead of the top lol

Like I said I did the exact same thing so don't feel bad I was actually over 2.5 when I realized it but the good thing about copper power is its a very gentle copper treatment

Yes thnks for helping me figure out I was reading it wrong lol. I really do love this forum :). Everyone is just so helpful!!!
