Hey guys

Got my qt tank all setup fish eating etc

Started dosing cupramine
And was planning to get to 0.5 over 5 days

Got to my 3rd day (3.5ml dosed) and already got to 0.5 according to salifert test kit

In my 115l (30 gallons) i was expecting to be adding an overall of 5.75ml

Am i reading the test kit wrong ?

That seems lower than .5 . Do the instructions say look down through the vial or from the side? The Hanna checker is pricey, but a lot easier to use. Also, there is no reason to take up the copper that slowly, 48 or even 24 hours is better. Too many times I see people’s fish develop disease during the five days, they overreact thinking it is copper toxicity, they back off on the copper and all the fish die!
