Hi Randy,

Not a reef question par say, but a chemistry one nether less. I'm looking at purchasing food grade copper sulphate for feed, if I needed to administer 16mg of copper sulphate, I assume with 100% copper sulphate powder that would equate to 16mg of the powder?.

Is the total amount of elemental copper in CuSO4, 25.5%?

so in 10mg of Copper sulphate, there will be 2.5.5mg of elemental copper?

Just double checking :)

Copper sulfate solid often comes as a hydrate. So it can have water molecules in the solid crystal, reducing the amount of copper in 10 mg.

A supplier likely gives the info on hydration.

Ill email them, regarding the dosage, with 100% copper sulphate, a dosage requiring 16mg would equate to 16mg of sulphate as its 100% pure?
