I just now noticed the wording on a sticky and would like to know if there is a difference between API's "total copper test kit" vs API's "copper test kit"? The test kit that I just bought says "copper". It doesn't say "total copper". I looked on some websites and can't find "total copper ".

API is a "total copper test kit" which means it can read both low and high range copper. However, practically speaking it does a much better job of measuring chelated (in the high range) than ionic (in the low range). For low range copper (ex. Cupramine) you're better off with a Salifert or Seachem copper test kit because both max out at <1ppm. So, they are more accurate for the low range.

Awesome! Thanks for clearing that up. I bought API for CopperSafe. So I'm good to go. Scared myself there for a minute.[emoji4]
