Hi all, I’ve got the ich well my coral beauty does which means my tank and all other fish do as well.
My quarantine tank is set up and fish are ready to me move out of the DT, my question for you all is, do you add copper forat then the fish or fish first then copper? I’m using Seachem cupramine. Thanks everyone.

I would ramp up the cupermine slowly depending on how bad your fish are. If they're totally infested, a freshwater dip may help alleviate some symptoms temporarily. Otherwise, I would put the fish in, then slowly ramp up the copper levels

Thank you. I just noticed it this morning and it’s not bad, but not bad still means it’s in the system. Thanks again for your info. Much appreciated

Yeah I currently dealing with velvet in mine. I unintentionally ramped up the copper power from 0 to 1.47 immediately. Thankfully, everyone tolerated the quick rise fine but I wouldn't advise that.

Dwarf angels do a bit better with a "chelated" copper like Copper Power or Coppersafe. None-the-less, using "ionic" copper like Cupramine or Brightwells, can be done safely if the ramp up is slow and steady over 5-7 days instead of the two big doses Cupramine lists on their label. It's way to harsh on many fish. Spread out the dosing evenly over 5-7 days allows you to watch for copper sensitivity before damage is done.

And using a Hanna HL Copper Checker is fantastic for dialing into therapeutic level without under or over dosing. The dose is so small with Cupramine and the therapeutic range is pretty narrow too.
