Copper power will NOT erradicate Uronema.

It may suppress it to some degree.

If you have active Uronema in a QT it's best to dose Metroplex with your copper treatment.

Use the metro at the full strength doasage for 10-14 days.

that doesnt look like Uronima to me. looks like something peeled its skin off. how long has it been like this? progressing?
My guess would be to start treating with antibiotics trifecta: Kanaplex, metroplex and Furan2.

That doesn't look like Uronema to me either. However, Uronema, in its "day job" eats bacteria, so if this were a bacterial infection, I'm guessing if you looked at it under a scope, you would see Uronema.

Copper never works for Uronema. If it is intercellular in its infection site, there is no cure - once you see it erupt on the skin of the fish, it has massively destroyed the internal tissues. I've used chloroquine and had some success, but that drug isn't readily available right now due to Covid.

As @HotRocks says, Metronidazole is an option for Uronema - if it wasn't so bitter, it would be a great drug to dose orally.

So - is the fish currently in a QT? Can you lower the SG to a level that is isotonic with the fish's blood? Those are huge holes, and you don't want the fish to struggle to balance water in and out. I'm not positive, but I think an SG of around 1.018 is similar to fish blood. Then, I'd say a good broad spectrum, gram negative antibiotic would be needed. KanaPlex plus Furna-2 perhaps?

I am also leaning to something more along the lines of a bacterial issue here. If it started out as a parasitic infestation it has definitely gone nuclear and progressed into a secondary sort of infection. I agree that treating with a wide spectrum antibiotic would be ideal. Copper is also an immunosuppressant so while it’s good for treating parasites like ich and velvet it unfortunately exacerbated whatever you have going on more than likely. If you have a small hospital tank I’d remove the fish from copper and see if you can get it to recover fully with antibiotics and then RE-run the copper regiment.

I got YT from Live Aquaria and just about 2-3 days it went down hill fast.
Since someone told me is more likely bacterial I removed it from the copper and started treating the YT with Metriplex but the next day the fish passed.
I’m going to clean out the QT and reset it for the next fish down the road.
