Any tips on how to get a new copperband butterfly fish to eat? What food has anyone used with success?

brine shrimp n garlic... tried that??
I hardly saw mine eat anything but the apstia were dissapering so I had a feeling he was eating
now he eats almost any thing I put in includeing the romain I give to my tangs
good luck

Thanks, I appreciate that, I have never had any feeding issues before even with my picky angel

I've had really good success with this brand. My LFS recommended it to me.

Mine loves mysis shrimp and just about anything, except flakes or pellets. I soak a combination of foods overnight in Selcon and marine vitamins. Never used garlic. He was eating mysis before I started doing that though. I have had the fish for around 8 years. Eats like a pig and no aiptasia in the display.

Mysis live blackworms, rods food or reef frenzy all will help get started. I watched mine find a bristle worm and eat it like candy a couple weeks ago.

Some advise about Copperbands... I would only buy them locally where you can see them and only buy them if they are healthy and eating good in store and that solves a lot of issues. I have bought some fish online from live aquaria but most local and then only if eating. Other than that maybe live brine, mysis, roe, cyclops or live pods. Garlic may help those to be more appealing.

Also if you can put out the extra money for the muelleri copperband butterfly they are supposedly a much healthier easier to feed version of the copperband. I've seen a few on Divers den usually about 300 I think
