I recently got a Copperband who has been doing good, eating, acting normal, but i’m starting to grow concerned because every few minutes or so he’ll swim near one of my urchins and nip. I haven’t seen any spines missing from them, but I wanted to see if any precautions need to be taken or if i’m just overreacting. Any help is appreciated.

May be looking for food as they often do

I don't think a Copperband has the right equipment to cause any damage to an urchin.

Mine had been with urchins for 2 years now (two fully grown White Pincushions) and he has never managed to take down them. They don’t have the jaws that many wrasses have so they can’t try to smash the shell on the rock to get a hold of the meat inside of the Urchin’s shell.

How long have you had it? Looks like it could stand to gain some weight. Is it eating a few pieces here and there or devouring all you will feed it?
