Copperband Butterfly With Anemones?

As the title suggests, I would love to add one of these to my mixed (peaceful) reef - but I do have a lot of bubbletip, condy, long tentacle and rock flower anemones. All the information I could find online seems to indicate reef safe with caution with anemones (which is kind of a general disclaimer). Does anyone have a copperband butterfly in their mixed reef with anemones? Any tips or suggestions? Thanks in-advance.

I had mine in with a BTA, Mini Maxi. The BTA wandered off and did well then vanished, the mini maxi I still have to this day. IME they’re mainly RSWC around aptaisia, majano, and ball anemones.

Possibly yes - although I’d still remain cautious.

My CBB demolished all the baby rock flower nems very quickly but was good around the adult rfa for about 6 months. Eventually started biting the mouths of the nems and irritated them so much they stayed closed most of the week. Was able to remove the CBB before any adults died.

could just be that I didn’t get him enough food. He is still good about never touching the clams after 3 years now though.

Having a clownfish hosted in the anemone prevents a Copperband from consuming the larger anemones.

The rock flowers may or may not be eaten. Some Copperbands will eat aiptasia and anemones, while others ignore them.

It’s hit or miss. I’d say the only way to find out if getting the copperband and seeing if it goes well, if not, you remove the fish and decide if you want to try again with a different one or not.

Mine doesn't bother with the anemones and the anemones don't bother the CBB.

Well mine loves aiptasia/mojano anemones. Never bothered my bubbletips I should say

I can’t really agree nor disagree since I’m unsure however I added a nice sized BTA and it lived happily in the tank but then strangely vanished. No signs of it being in the pumps/wave maker, and the CBB was in the tank at this time. The nem was rather small at night and the CBB will hunt throughout the night.

They’re slow movers and at night, they can become food to anemones if they’re not aware. Mine isn’t a slow mover though and will swim rather fast when she wants.
