I don't know if this has happened to any of you but my copperband butterflyfish attacks my lawnmower blenny! I just got the lawnmower blenny in my tank a few hours ago and the butterflyfish picked on it once. I did not see any continuous picking but I'm afraid that the blenny will end up being severely injured. Does anybody know why is the butterflyfish picking on the blenny? How should I avoid this from happening?

Distract the butterfly with food possibly and keep the lights off on the tank for a bit. See if that aids with him being a bully.

I've never kept butterflies so I do not know much about them and their temperament. Anytime I introduce something new, I keep the lights off all day. Kind of seems to keep the fish a little more calm. Feeding them a little more than usual sometimes can help too. Keeps them distracted and if they're well fed they tend to not try to bully others thinking that someone else isnt trying to move in on their territory and food supply.

I have a blue eyed tang who harassed my lawnmower Blenny to death. Every time it came out to graze the tang forced it back into hiding, eventually starving the poor thing out. I tried to rescue the blenny but was unable to catch it.

My Copperbands have always been friendly but, I did get a small one in once that ate like a pig, didn't aptaisia but kept going after my yellow head jaw fish. So he went back to the store
