Copperband in a mix reef tank

Just want to see if this was ok to do. I want to add a copperband to my tank to take care of the aiptasia. I have a large long tenticle anemone(fully open 12" round) with a pair of clowns hosting in it. Will my clowns keep it safe from the copperband? Tank is a 185 dsa. Corals are mostly with sps,couple of leathers, and a few lps wall hammers,duncans,frogspawn,and branching hammer. Fish consist of purple tang, blond naso,hippo,sailfin,mated clowns, pyramid butterfly, and a few wrasse.

I have one in my tank, but I don't have alot of corals yet. Hasn't touched anything which include frogspawn, acans, zoas, palys, open brains, chalices, candy cains, and BTA. Also note he doesn't eat aiptasia either. Luckily it he eats mysis.

most likely will get a taste for lps and polyps once the aiptasia is gone.... that's been my exp. anyways... ate my feather dusters and aiptasia then got on pellets and flakes all was great and 6 months later took my clam out some acans and went after my scolly :sad:

i have one now for about 3 months and it is doing great. has not nipped at any corals or clams.

Really hit or miss. You can buy them and they may not eat anything (including the aptasia). They may attack the aptasia quickly and then respond well to frozen or dried foods. Or they could go after LPS right off the bat. I've heard stories of all three happening. Much like some Angelfish, you need to keep your eye on them.

yeah pretty much what he said ^^ -- i had one in my tank, full mixed reef 180 gallons... as soon as it hit the water out of the bag it ate an aptasia, then it didnt touch any for like a week or so, then the next week it power chomped like a hundred fat aptasias i have growing in my rocks. the thing seriously cleaned house... then it died =( but it didnt touch my corals thank god
