I have a copperband in QT that was eating at the store but not at home (I know this happens) but it is not too much of a concern for me just yet as I am sure it is stressed being in the QT. I am treating via TTM and about to my first transfer and was wondering if copperbands do better with general cure or prazipro or does it not matter? I have both available to me and it is in a 10g QT. Any help/recommendations would be appreciated.

i would wait for the fish to get eating before any treatment.

I used prazi on my cb, no issues. Pounded live blackworms the whole time. I adjusted it to the appropriate dose based on humblefish recommendations because the dose on the bottle is actually higher than it needs to be and can stress fish sometimes (although I used to use full dose and never had issues).

I honestly would be more concerned with TTM stressing the fish/injury during transfers, but that's just me.

It ate frozen at the store perfectly well but won't touch the same food here or the live food I have offered.

Prefer to use General Cure. General Cure has a lower dose of prazi and also contains metro: win-win. Prazipro's liquid products uses Oxybispropanol which can, under some circumstances cause an algae bloom (cloudy water) which can lower the O2 level in the water.

*bacterial bloom

: )

Personally, I prefer prazipro. I almost always do a course of metro before fish goes to dt so unless I feel I need for metro right away I stick with pp. Bacterial bloom is possible, but I haven't had much trouble with it.

With your cbb, check the mouth very closely, they are prone to injury when being netted or transported. Start antibiotics immediately if you see something amiss.

I agree with TTM being stressful for a delicate fish. Fish that take being caught and handled very well seem to do great with ttm, but cbb usually dont like being handled. Ttm also doesn't address velvet so I prefer CP, but I favor prophylactic velvet treatment over observation.

Live blackworms or littlenecks on the half shell are good bets for feeding cbb.

Good luck, one of my favorite dish!
