Any advice on keeping a Copperband alive? I had one that was eating great and appeared healthy and just died out of the blue. My LFS told me they are somewhat fragile and can get injured easily. I love them and want to keep one but I am discouraged. I don't lose fish very often and don't want to buy another one and kill it. Current fish are a Hippo Tang, Coral Beauty, Spot tail blenny, Diamond Goby, 2 Clowns and a Mandarin.

Sorry for your loss, are you quarantining and was it showing any symptoms before it died? They need a decent size tank and no aggressive tank mates

I did not QT as my LFS treats their fish and will keep them for awhile under observation. They are very reputable and have helped me since I began my tank a couple years ago. It wasn't showing signs that I could tell. I think I am going to try again.

I have lost three. Same thing every thing seems fine then they die. I tried clams as posted on reef 2 reef, mine last one did not eat. I watched in my lfs for about 2 months, at, it still only live about a month.

Love them, but won't get them anymore

I think a lot of them are caught with cyanide. Hence why lots of folks report they are eating fine, but suddenly die. If you can find an Aussie caught one they are very hardy (but you pay much more than indo or Philippines prices). Mine is super greedy and fights all comers for any food. He loves ocean nutrition pellets, mysis, clams, shrimp, fauna Marin LPS pellets, squid, krill. I bought him to clear a really bad aiptasia infestation after peppermint shrimp and berghia failed. He cleared the whole tank 2 days after I got him, so maybe that helped him settle. Only problem is he doesn’t let me feed my LPS very easily, as he likes their food too much! He has also eaten 5 acan colonies, but left many others alone (seems to like rainbow acans - predominantly red ones are left alone).

Here's a picture of him stealing pellets from scollys.
